We welcome visits from all sorts of groups including :
- schools and colleges (we have a good awareness of the requirements of the National Curriculum)
- agricultural and horticultural groups
- business events (we also have a meeting room if required)
- other special or general interest groups
|
No two visits are the same as we tailor visits to the interests of the group. Tours may be followed by a meal in the Riverford Field Kitchen, where you can experience the direct connection between field and plate, with fresh, organic produce at its best.
A typical tour lasts a couple of hours or more, taking in the vegetable fields, clover leys, pasture and hedgerows, and usually includes a tractor and trailer ride to the polytunnels where we grow a wide variety of salads and herbs, and also to the outlying parts of the farm, giving superb views over the surrounding countryside. Visits are informal, informative and hands-on, with lots of touching, smelling and tasting, and usually with seasonal samples to pick and take home.
